Data Recovery
When a policyholder’s computer is damaged, we have the ability to take the hard drive out of the computer and analyze it for loss related damages.
If it is functional, we place it in an external enclosure, which allows us to return the original data to the policyholder. If the hard drive is not functional, we can assist in the retrieval of the information that is stored through a data recovery lab. This process has been utilized by Relectronic-Remech for thousands of computers over the years.
A solid state hard drive (SSD)
A solid state hard drive (SSD) actually has NO disk or movable mechanical components; however, it is designed to store data using an integrated circuit assembly. This relatively new technology uses electronic interface compatible with traditional hard drive disk, therefore making it faster and permitting simple replacement in common applications. However, per unit of storage, SSDs are similar in cost to HDD’s now.
USB Flash Drives
A.K.A. memory sticks or thumb drives. They can be considered the predecessor to the SSD only a much smaller version. Flash drives are getting larger in size – common are 8 to 64 GB in size – which allows them to act as a good back up storage for media files. A typical problem now is that people have a lot of data and these can be lost or misplaced with data on them.
